I'm now serving in Brownsburg!!! It's apparently a step up from Anderson, although I really really miss Anderson. I absolutely love that area a lot. Brownsburg is part of West Indianapolis its close to Pittsoboro where Jeff Gordon (that nascar driver) grew up. We actually cover that town. This area was actually opened just last transfer, but a few things happened and the sisters weren't able to fully proselyte in the area. Now that I'm here we're able to fully commit to building up our investigator pool. Also for this area it'll be first to ever have sisters serving here. I do like this area too. The houses are really nice, and expensive looking kind of like St. George. haha.
By the way, Mom will you send me my call letter. I want it. I want to study it. Plus it was a commitment from my Zone leader.
Oh, and guess what!? Remember Elder Magleby? Well, Apparently I'm stalking him. When he first came out on his mission he was trained in Anderson, and I was trained in Anderson. When he transferred from Anderson he went to Brownsburg. I transferred from Anderson to Brownsbug. So apparently Heavenly Father is making me stalk Elder Magleby, or he's making it so that I'll follow in the footsteps of the Assisstant to the President.
Anyway, I thought that was pretty funny. Him and I have been joking about it for a little while now. So, I'm not sure what else I should say besides Brownsburg is a pretty nice area and I'll be sending home some Hoosier stickers, Not weird CD's this time. I promise.
I'm really excited for this area because a few of the Elders whom I dearly respect a lot have served here, and as one of the first sisters to serve here I'm pretty excited. I don't think I mentioned it before, but only Elders have ever served in Brownsburg. Anyway, those elders I respect are pretty amazing Elder Magleby, Elder Bronk, and Elder Roberts. They're my favorite, in a non-creepy way. I promise.
My companion now is Sister Marshall. She came out at the same time Sister Vanderhooft came out (my last companion). Sister Marshall is seriously amazing. She is so sincere. I'm really jealous because I have a hard time being sincere and loving. (hi form Sister Marshall!!) <---- she randomly wrote that just so you know.
Anyway, We have really amazing investigators here in Brownsburg.
They are just super wonderful guys who want to do better in their lives. They both just need to quit smoking. I know its hard, but I know they can do it. One is trying to so that he can feel the spirit more. That is just an amazing reason to quit. He actually got baptized a little while ago, but because of something that happened (which is he smoked in between his baptisim and confirmation) he wasn't able to recieve the holy ghost until he quits smoking. So right now we're working with him on that. He really is amazing though. He is a great and wonderful guy who definitely is a wonderful son of God
.
One actually had a baptism date this last weekend, but he wasn't able to quite smoking either. He is amazing though because his family is a member and he has this determination to quit so that him and his family can be together forever. He is such a sweet guy. I had my first lesson with him on Saturday, and I just fell in love with that family. They really are amazing especially a family who does have a testimony of the gospel. I love it. Its wonderful to see how the gospel can change people's lives.
Anyway, I'm having a good time here in Brownsburg. Oh, and Danville. I haven't been to Pittsboro yet. I'm excited to go when I get the chance. On Saturday, In Danville, we actually ran out of miles so walked all around the town. We had a member drive us there and drop us off, and we spent the whole day there. It was so much fun!!! Although I think we probably walked 6 miles that day too which I'm sure is not true, but it felt like 6 miles!!!!! now that I think about it. We walked yesterday too to save on miles and I'm sure that was only 2 or 3 miles, but I'm going to tell you now that suburbs are very confusing. I don't like them. They are hard to navigate without a map, and even using the map is hard sometimes if you don't North from South.
Anyway, how is everyone doing? I hope all is going well. Give Gunner and Xander lots of love for me. Tell them I'll see them in about a year. by the way in 6 weeks I will be out for 6 months. Its gone by extremely quickly, but its fun and I've learned quite a bit so far.
anyway, I've got to get going. I love you all, and miss you. I'll talk to you next week.
Love,
Sister Ashley Freer
